Paul and Mary Grim purchased the new custom-built 1962 Dodge Dart Convertible, pictured below,
in 1962 for just under 3 thousand ($2995). The Dodge has great power with its large V8 engine.
It easily climbs hills as if to say "give me something more challenging". It is distinctive
with many lights and a grill that looks like a big mouth ready to scoop anything in its way.
Paul's daughter Pat picked the red color since it was her favorite color. The Grim Dodge
remains with Paul's son Mark as the care-taker.

The background song on this page is a Beach Boys song called "Shutdown" which is
about a 1962 Dodge Dart racing a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The lyrics are: "Tach it up,
tach it up, Buddy gonna shut you down, It happened on the strip where the road is wide, (Rev it up, now),
Two cool shorts standin' side by side, (Rev it up, now), Yeah, my fuel injected Stingray and a four-thirteen, (Rev it up, now),
Were revvin' up our engines and it sounds real mean, (Rev it up, now), Tach it up, tach it up, Buddy gonna shut you down,
Declinin' numbers at an even rate, (Movin' out, now), At the count of one we both accelerate, (Movin' out, now),
My Stingray is light the slicks are startin' to spin, (Movin' out, now), But the four-thirteen's really diggin' in, (Movin' out, now),
Gotta be cool now power shift here we go, Superstock Dodge is winding out in low,
But my fuel injected Stingray's really startin' to go, To get the traction I'm ridin' the clutch,
My pressure plate's burnin' my machine's too much, Pedal's to the floor hear his dual quads drink, (Honk it on, now),
And now the four-thirteen's lead is startin' to shrink, (Honk it on, now), He's hot with ram induction but it's understood,
(Honk it on, now), I got a fuel injected engine sittin' under my hood, (Honk it on, now), Shut it off,
shut it off buddy now I shut you down, Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down, Shut it off,
shut it off buddy now I shut you down, Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down?"
