Paul and Mary Grim purchased the 1960 Fiat 600 Multipla, pictured below, in 1964 for $625 from
a doctor who purchased it in Europe and brought it over to the US by boat. That is why you
will not see too many of these cars in the US. They could not be purchased in the US. The
Fiat had very little power with its small engine in the back. When it rode up some of the big
hills (small mountains) in Woodsfield Ohio (edge of the Allegheny Mountains), it took some
time to travel at the top of the hill. It took some getting used to NO PROTECTION at the
front of the car, with no hood. The car could be described as a small bus or van. It had
surprising room inside (optical illusion). Part of the space saving had the front seat
over the front wheels. The four seats in the back could be individually folded down flat.
It was used quite frequently in Italy as a taxi cab. The Grim Fiat was sold for $100 in 1971.
